Alzheimer’s Disease: The Crippling Of A Mind

alzPart 1 of a series | Read Part Two

In our lives the one thing most people identify as containing the essence of who they are comes from the mind. It houses creativity, personality, memories and intelligence. Our thoughts are the only things we have total control over, if the brain is healthy that is. Alzheimer’s disease strips the individual of their identity by destroying the brain over a period of 8 to 20 years.

What Causes Alzheimer’s Disease?

Currently medical science is only able to view Alzheimer’s disease through opaque glass. Diagnoses are difficult as several forms of dementia exist. In fact an autopsy is required to be able to confirm the diagnosis. More is known about how Alzheimer’s disease affects the person than is known about what causes it or will prevent it.

Revitalize Your Dormant Hair Follicles With The HairMax

When Benjamin Franklin said, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”, he could well have been looking into a mirror, gazing at his rapidly receding hairline. He could have been, but probably wasn’t, for back then the only method of altering hair loss was to wear one of those powdered wigs our founding fathers were so fond of.

Today, Ben’s statement is the axiom for hair loss, for now there are tools and treatments for minimizing the affliction. However, success is contingent on both the reason for hair loss and the health of the hair follicles.

Hair Biology

The human may be the only mammal whose body sheds between 50 to 100 hairs on a daily basis. Other animals generally molt a massive amount of hair in the spring when winter coats are no longer required or desired.

Maintaining a Healthy Prostate

Prostate TherapyThe Prostate is a small gland in men that is located in front of the rectum and below the bladder. The tube (urethra) that carries urine from the bladder runs through the prostate. It is this biological design which becomes problematic for men. As the prostate gland never stops growing the majority of American men over the age of 60 begin to have their urethra pinched by the inflamed prostate. This pinching effect causes pain, the need for frequent urination, and a weak flow.

Prostate Disorders

There are three major ailments a prostate can develop:

  • Prostatitis
    • Acute Bacterial Prostatitis – It comes on quickly and is the easiest to treat. Symptoms include lower back and genital area pain. Painful urination is also common.
    • Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis – May have a reoccurring bladder infection. It may be caused by a defect within the prostate where bacteria collects in the urinary tract.

Self-Treatment of Hemorrhoids is Easy

By Cat Lowe

Hemorrhoids is the chronic health problem few people want to talk about. And yet, by the age of 50 nearly 50 percent of the adult population has suffered from them. Technically speaking hemorrhoids are varicose veins of the anal region. And though our lifestyle of improper eating habits, having difficult bowel movements, and pregnancy can be a major cause of hemorrhoids, it isn’t the whole story. Much of the inflamed veins can be attributed to the bodies design.

Unlike other veins in the body which has a check valve system that keeps blood always flowing toward the heart, the delicate veins in the anus area has no such system in place. So, when a person lifts something too heavy, strains when having a bowel movement, or even coughs the pressure of such action can cause the blood to compress into these fragile veins. This traps excessive blood in the area which inflates the veins. The swelling of these veins causes the pain, itching and bleeding associated with hemorrhoids.
