Health Benefits of Exercising

Part 2 of 2 | Read Part One of the Series

Every time you turn on the TV some company is advertising a new product that will improve your health. There is such a bombardment of health products on the market claiming to be the next best thing that knowing who to believe can be overwhelming.

It seems like the new fad with exercising is speed, how fast can a workout be completed. “Only 30 minutes, three days a week and your body will look amazing,” is all too commonly heard from companies claiming their product works the best.

With every advertisement comes a statement posted on the bottom: “Results Not Typical.” What is typical, and what has to be done to see improvement? These are questions every customer has, but the information is never there.

When beginning an exercise routine to improve health, lose weight or just because, it is important to know how your body operates and what it takes to burn fat. Typically when working out it takes your body 30 minutes at an elevated heart rate to begin burning fat. Prior to the 30 minutes your body typically burns off sugar. This is why results may be hard to see without extended workouts.

Consuming more than three meals a day can actually cause your body to increase the metabolic rate. Consuming less than three meals a day will actually cause your body to slow the metabolic rate. This is because your body believes you may be starving yourself and in order to compensate, it must store the food intake as fat. The type of food consumed does matter. Foods high in white flour and sugar provide no nourishment to your body and act as filler food. Eating whole unprocessed foods will help your body maintain energy longer, increase your metabolism, and ultimately provide better benefits when exercising.

How exercising can help your body

One question everyone wants to answer is how to prevent disease. There are a range of diseases that can be prevented simply by exercising. Fifty million Americans suffer from high blood pressure; with exercise and diet this statistic can be dramatically reduced. Physical activity will reduce body fat which in turn will help lower high blood pressure.

Sixty million Americans suffer from obesity. This staggering statistic can be attributed to the American way of life, fast food, processed food, and sugar. Reducing the amount of junk food in combination with proper exercise will help the fight against obesity. Obesity is often linked to a number of diseases including heart disease and diabetes. Close to twenty-two million Americans suffer from one of these debilitating diseases.

It can be difficult to find the time to exercise or eat healthy. Our lives are very busy and fast-paced. It can be very convenient to purchase premade dinners or order fast food, and at times we have no choice.

Stress can also be attributed to becoming overweight and if one has time, exercise is one of the best ways to relieve stress. Exercise releases endorphins which can help reduce depression and anxiety and help you better manage stress.

Another health problem exercise can help with is back pain. By increasing muscle strength and endurance and improving flexibility and posture, regular exercise helps to prevent back pain. Exercise can also help with osteoporosis by promoting bone formation using weight-bearing exercises.

So many problems can be avoided by starting an exercise routine. It helps to start young and continue throughout your life, however starting at any time will help. Consistency is key and with a routine this can be achieved. It can be hard to get yourself in the groove, but if you continue to push yourself you will want to exercise every day.

What exercises are right for you?

Depending on your age some exercises may not be right for you. For the younger, more energetic person running may be a great fit. Running is a great way to increase your heart rate for extended periods of time. It can be a relaxing and rewarding experience. When beginning a routine it may be very difficult to push yourself, but as time progresses you will find running is an experience to look forward to. Problems can arise during running mainly because it is a heavy impact exercise. Proper technique is important and stretching is a must.

Biking is a great way to incorporate all the benefits of running without the heavy impact. It can also be a fun activity to do with friends or family and is a great alternative mode of transportation. Biking can be done by all age groups. More and more cities around the country are building bike friendly paved trails which are great for beginning bikers.

For an older individual running or biking may not be right for you and there are definitely options. A great product is the Resistance Chair. This product allows a variety of low impact exercises built directly into the chair. There are anchor cables which allow light to moderate lifting. For people wanting to bike this product can be used with the Smooth Rider Mini Bike which is placed at the base of the Resistance Chair.

Another great product for exercise is the VibraSlim. This product focuses on whole body vibration and helps increase HGH (Human Growth Hormone) by 460%. This machine is currently being used by professional sport teams and many celebrities. It’s great because anyone young or old can use it. Benefits include increases in hormone levels, burning of fat and cellulite, eases of joint pain and building of muscle strength.

Swimming is another low impact workout for any age group. Normal size swimming pools are almost impossible to swim in for exercise unless you have an endless swimmer. A great, more economical product that accomplishes the same results as an endless swimmer is the HomeSwimmer. This device attaches a pole to the pool wall and allows a comfortable way to swim endlessly in any pool.

Exercising doesn’t have to consist of work all the time. Taking a Far Infrared Sauna provides many of the same benefits without the hassle. Far Infrared Saunas work on a very similar principle to working out. When the temperature of the body is increased the natural reaction is to cool its self down. The body regulates temperature primarily through sweating, followed by an increased heart rate. Exercise on the other hand causes an increased heart rate followed by sweating. Either way you look at it the same benefits are reached.

Detoxification is another powerful tool linked to Far Infrared saunas. When your body detoxifies this helps promote overall heath and reduces stress. For the person who loves sitting in a relaxed environment while achieving health, a Far Infrared sauna may be the perfect thing for you.

Conclusion

Exercise and diet are great ways to improve your quality of life. Walking your dog or doing yard work are great ways to turn a chore into exercise. It doesn’t matter what you do as long as you stay consistent with the activity. Diet is very important when exercising because what we eat does make us feel different. When people feel better they are more likely to exercise. For anyone considering an exercise routine, good luck and stay consistent.
