Magnetic Therapy: Attracts Healing, Repels Pain
Human society has been in awe of the magnetic power of lodestones since the first telling of history. The rock’s near magical powers of attraction and repulsion have incited thousands of misconceptions about their force. The Greeks thought only a soul could demonstrate such a power, thus believed lodestones contained a spirit. During the 16th century it was thought a lodestone under the bed would drive away an unfaithful wife. In the late 19th century the belief was that a lodestone charm would bring back a vagrant husband. Within Magnetic Therapy there is another misconception: that the iron in the blood can be directly controlled by magnets. If this were true one could put a bit of blood in a test tube, then use a magnetic force to move the blood against gravity up the side of the glass wall. But this can not happen because the iron in blood is bound in such a way so that magnets will not manipulate it in this fashion. However, there is no misconception that magnets have other affects on the blood. Bio-magnets cause blood to rush into the area where they are being applied. This promotes faster healing while halting the pain impulse. Magnets 101
All magnets have both north/negative and south/positive poles. The magnetic field flows out of the north pole, wraps around the magnet, then enters back in through the south pole. Within every magnet the energy flowing from the north/negative is a little stronger than that flowing back into the south/positive side. The most visible fact about magnets is that like poles repel each other, while opposite poles attract each other. We Are Ruled By The Earth’s Magnetic Field The earth is in a constant cycle of reversing its magnetic field. In the last 70 million years the poles have switched over 170 times. Every century we lose about 5% of the earth’s magnetic field. At what gauss the earth must sink to before the magnetic poles flip is unknown, but once it does flip the earth’s magnetic field will then be greatly increased. The magnetic field within the earth is created by its molten iron core in motion. The “in motion” part is the essential factor, for the iron core’s extreme heat would by itself actually destroy a magnetic field, and iron is not magnetic in and of itself. So it is the spin, the motion at the core, which creates the magnetic current. Visualize a child’s spinning top. At first its axis is perpendicular to its spin. In time, as it slows, it begins to wobble. Eventually it falls over. The earth is a bit like a top. As its wobble increases it becomes more likely that a polar shift will occur. It seems doubtful the earth will actually flip over, but it is theorized the core could flip, or dramatically move around, which would result in massive movement at the earth’s surface. After each polar shift things on earth are definitely different. For one thing the magnetic gauss is greatly increased. It is known that a strong magnetic gauss is beneficial to life. NASA realized this when they discovered their astronauts returned from missions weakened; the problem was not resolved until a magnetic field was installed in their space crafts. The magnetic currents of the earth exude a give and take effect on the cell. The positive cell elements, the nucleus and inner fluid, can be strengthened while the negatively charged outer membrane may become weaker. Magnetic Therapy treatments can only be beneficial if the magnetic field remains stronger than the earth’s .5 gauss. How Magnetic Therapy Works Every cell within our body not only reacts to electromagnetic currents but also produces them. The processing of food within the cell initiates this activity. As the body breaks down calcium, sodium and other substances into charged ion particles, an electromagnetic field is created by their movement. A constant exchange of energy is always taking place within the body. In general, the use of magnets for healing restores order to a damaged energy flow by removing blockages. Within an injured area the ion levels change. This causes the electromagnetic field in the area to lose its equilibrium. When therapeutic magnets are applied the ions move so fast they produce heat which causes the capillary walls to become less rigid. This allows additional blood to saturate the injured tissues. The result is more oxygen and nutrients feed the area which boosts the body’s natural ability to remove the toxins caused by the inflammation. Along with this healing affect that Magnetic Therapy has on an injury, magnets have been reported to decrease pain. It is theorized this is accomplished by the blocking of nerve endings reporting the distress to the brain. In this regard Magnetic Therapy is similar to a TENS unit in its method of stopping pain. When Magnetic Therapy is applied to the pineal gland it has been established that the production of vital enzymes, like melatonin, is increased. The University of Texas discovered electromagnetism actually creates eddy currents within the pineal gland which in turn effects enzyme production. Magnetic Therapy brings order not only to an injury, but does the same for scar tissue. If magnets are applied while an open wound is healing, the tissues will weave together in a way that resists tearing. North vs South An experiment involving six mice, a 20-inch cage and a very large magnet was replicated 20 times before the mice learned how to neutralize the test. The magnet was put directly under the cage. The mice nested atop the north/negative magnetic side while using the south/positive side as their toilet. The magnet was reversed and the mice likewise changed sides. Again they slept on the north side and defecated on the south side. Eventually, after having the magnetic field switched several times, the mice learned to just make their nest in the middle of the cage. This experiment and many others have proven that the north/negative pole has a positive effect on the body. The reason for this has not been scientifically proven. One theory is to think of it like a shower. The showerhead is symbolic of the north pole’s energy. It is fresh, clean and powerful in its delivery. The south pole on the other hand is similar to the drain. Its water is grungy, spent and flows more slowly down a bigger opening. In Magnetic Therapy only the north/negative current is used. The south has been known to cause a person discomfort. This doesn’t mean the south pole is without power. Research shows that micro life forms, like bacteria and germs, are strengthened by the south/positive pole. Oh, but that’s not a very good thing, is it?
