The Many Forms of Oxygen (Part 2 of 2)

Part 2 of 2 | Read Part 1 of Series

The Many Forms of Oxygen

The body can live for a week without water, several weeks without food, but only four minutes without oxygen. Our survival revolves around a good and reliable source of oxygen. The earth supplies all the oxygen the body needs to be healthy, but at times this vital element does not make it to the planets surface.

During the hot, windless days of summer oxygen molecules can become so heated they separate into singlets of oxygen. At just half their original weight the singlets rise above the heavier pollutants in the air, leaving the surface with less oxygen to breathe. This phenomenon can leave the air up to 50 percent below the normal oxygen level.
