The What, Why and How of Fluoride Removal
In 1936 the Journal of the American Dental Association said that fluoride at a 1 part per million concentration is as toxic as lead and arsenic. An editorial in the same publication in October of 1944 said, “Drinking water containing as little as 1.2 ppm fluoride will cause developmental disturbances. We cannot run the risk of producing such serious systemic disturbances. The potentialities for harm outweigh those for good.” Water Filtration: UV Light and Ozone
In nature ultraviolet light is used at the earth’s stratosphere to create ozone. So in one way ultraviolet light and ozone share a commonality. Within water purification each method perform similar tasks, but in different ways. Each is effective at eradicating microorganisms like bacteria, viruses and molds. Ozone is more versatile and effective than UV for it also oxidizes metals, chlorine and other contaminates. Communities Worldwide Use Ozone For Water Purification In 1893 Oudshoorn, Netherlands became the first community in the world to use ozone to purify water. In the hundred plus years since ozone’s beginnings over 3,000 communities worldwide have installed ozone equipment for water purification. Currently the biggest is in Los Angeles where 600 million gallons of water can be disinfected daily. Water Filtration: Reverse Osmosis and Distillation
Two of the most effective methods of purifying water are reverse osmosis and distillation. What remains after these processes is pure H2O. There is neither toxins, nor beneficial minerals lingering. The body receives more than 95% of its needed minerals from food. In general, the benefit of having pure water to drink far outweighs the minor amount of minerals lost through these processes. Pressure Turns Osmosis Into Reverse Osmosis It is easier to understand how reverse osmosis works if one first comprehends the process of osmosis. Reverse osmosis isn’t really about causing osmosis to do an about face. In reality the two are related in every way but one. Water Filtration: Ionizers/Whole House Systems
Water quality is one of the reasons Promolife originally began. In this newsletter we’ll tell you about the importance of water quality and the various water filters you can find on the market. The next three newsletters will tell you how you can go about obtaining clear, drinkable water. Water filtration became an important part of life during the London cholera outbreak of 1854. The sand and carbon system employed at the time was not good enough to stop the tiny organisms that caused the disease. Today, there are water filters for almost any purpose. The best ones remove gases, minerals, heavy metals, microorganisms, sewage and a list of other toxins. Types and Materials of Modern Water Filters Water: Nature’s Elixir To Optimal Health
Water is essential to our health. When the body lacks water, maintaining the blood becomes a priority over the cells. The body will allow cellular damage to occur before the viscosity of the blood is permitted to be lost. When it comes to water distribution, the brain is the most important because it contains the highest concentration of water (85%), and for the work it executes as controller over bodily functions. So losing out on hydration is possibly the worst thing you can do to your body. Water performs many vital tasks within the body, like breaking down food particles, running the body’s hydroelectric pumps, removing toxins, cooling and carrying nutrients to cells. Without water the body simply can not perform its necessary functions, and vital processes will shut down. You need to know when your body is dehydrated and work to counteract the problem. Only You Can Ensure Your Drinking Water Is Safe
What do you get when you fix jet fuel, radon, ammonia and pharmaceuticals with water? Simple. You get tap water that every water treatment plant in the United States can legally call “safe to drink.” Water quality is one of the most important environmental concerns for Americans. The EPA, White House and Congress are disconnected from the reality of the situation and the wishes of many citizens. In the past decade, the government has actually been working against the interests of securing clean water. US Tap Water Is Tainted With Pharmaceuticals On March 10th, 2008, the Associated Press released the findings of a five month investigation of tap water conducted in 24 American cities. The investigation found trace quantities of drugs in the water used by 41 million people. | ||
